    Online Cardmember Agreements are updated quarterly and may change over time.

  • Here’s what to do when the card number or expiration date changes on your credit card or debit card:

    • Activate your new card as soon as you get it in the mail.
    • Update your new information with all merchants that bill your card automatically.
    • Make payments as usual to the statement showing your old credit card number.
    • Destroy any remaining credit or debit cards with the old card number or expiration date.
    • Destroy all convenience checks with your old credit card number.

    • Review the Checklist for Card Number or Expiration Date Changes.
    • Monitor your account for any unauthorized transactions and notify us immediately if any look suspicious.
    • Remember: U.S. Bank provides Zero Fraud Liability1, which protects you from unauthorized use of your card. Contact us promptly to file a claim, or if you have any questions.
    • Change passwords and update information with any online retailers where the lost or stolen card information is used or stored.

    Debit Card and Credit Card Alerts

    Set up payment reminder alerts, available credit and suspicious transaction alerts - and more - for your U.S. Bank personal and business accounts. Here are just a few of the available options:

    Security Alerts

    We'll always send you automatic alerts when we receive instructions for important changes to your account, including:

    • Address, email or phone number change
    • PIN number change
    • Request for a new ATM/debit card or replacement
  • Set Up My Card

    • Check the Status of My Credit Card Application? Please call 800-947-1444 and choose option 1 for the status of an application. The potential cardmember will be required to enter his/her social security number to locate the application. Additional verification item(s) will be needed to validate.
    • Activate My Credit Card: Follow instructions that came with your card or call the Cardmember Service number on the back of your card.

    Update My Card

    • Change my PIN: Please call the Cardmember Service number on the back of your card.
